TANIOBIS: Traditional augmentation of new facility in Map Ta Phut plant in Thailand
TANIOBIS GmbH, a subsidiary of JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation, is investing a total of 28 million euros in its plant in Map Ta Phut in Thailand. TANIOBIS broke new ground during a traditional Thai inauguration ceremony. The new plant will expand production capacity for tantalum powder.
In accordance with traditional Thai culture, the ground-breaking ceremony was conducted by nine Buddhist monks and a Brahmin priest. “With the new plant in Map Ta Phut, TANIOBIS aims to increase its production capacity to become the world’s largest tantalum powder production facility,” says Mr. Kazuhiko Iida, CEO of TANIOBIS GmbH. The facilities are expected to be commissioned gradually around 2025.
