Important electronics industry supplier adopts new position

Many of us will carry TANIOBIS products along with us or even work with them in the future. Effective as of July 1, 2020, H.C. Starck Tantalum & Niobium (Ta&Nb) will do business under the TANIOBIS brand. A subsidiary of JX Nippon Mining & Metals, TANIOBIS produces high-quality materials, powders, and alloys based on tantalum and niobium. The branches and production sites in Germany (Goslar, Laufenburg), Japan (Tokyo, Mito), Thailand (Map Ta Phut) and the U.S. (Needham, MA) will continue to operate. Core applications for H.C. Starck Ta&Nb powders include additive manufacturing.

H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium introduces AMtrinsic® metal powder range for Additive Manufacturing

Goslar, October 22, 2019. H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium GmbH will be launching a new range of atomised tantalum and niobium (Ta/Nb) powders and their alloys under the brand name AMtrinsic®. The products will be available by the November 1st, 2019. AMtrinsic® powders are designed specifically for metal additive manufacturing (AM) processes.

H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium receives the “2019 Metal Additive Manufacturing Outstanding Technical Paper Award” by Metal Powder Industries Federation

The H.C. Stack Tantalum and Niobium GmbH successfully participated for the first time at the AMPM Conference in the US (Phoenix) from June 23 to June 26. Co-located with the Powdermet conference the AMPM conference is an important event for the metal additive manufacturing industry as it features international industry experts presenting their latest results in Research and Development which are about to contribute to the further growth of this dynamic field. In total over 200 presentations from worldwide representatives were given on powder metallurgy, materials and metal additive manufacturing. Besides the technical presentations, companies showcased their products at over 100 booths.

Dr. Weinmann conferred the H.C. Starck Award for the best PhD thesis in the field of solid state chemistry and material science at the 19th meeting for Inorganic Chemistry of the German Association of Chemists (GDCh) in Regensburg.

H.C. Starck receives certification for processing conflict-free tantalum raw materials for the seventh time in a row

  • Conflict-free raw material sourcing remains a key element of the H.C. Starck strategy
  • H.C. Starck has already now managed to fulfill the main requirements of the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation

Munich, February 8, 2018 - H.C. Starck, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of technology metals and advanced ceramics, has received the certification for processing of “conflict-free” tantalum raw materials the seventh year in a row. The audit included the subsidiary H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium GmbH and the associated company H.C. Starck Smelting GmbH & Co. KG. This means all subsidiaries that process tantalum at the Goslar, Mito, Tokyo, Map Ta Phut, and Laufenburg locations remain certified. The audit was performed by the independent company SGS, acting on behalf of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA formerly Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition EICC) and the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP formerly Conflict-Free Smelter Program) as part of the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI, formerly CFSI).
