AMPERTEC® TANTALUM PENTACHLORIDE (TaCl5) - Purity and material expertise
Chloride production is one of TANIOBIS' specialties, and our AMPERTEC® tantalum pentachloride is the purest currently available on the market. AMPERTEC® tantalum pentachloride is a highly reactive form of tantalum. This characteristic is used in various applications like catalytic processes, chemical syntheses, coating and doping.
The chloride produced by TANIOBIS is characterized by a larger particle size, which improves the flow characteristics of the powder. Moreover, the material is associated with less dust formation and improved storage capability due to a lower rate of hydrolysis.
Moreover, so-called MMO anodes with ruthenium and iridium oxides coatings are doped with tantalum oxide (MMO – mixed metal oxide.) Tantalum pentachloride is highly reactive and dissolves completely and without residue in the solutions used for the anode coating. The MMO anodes with corrosion-resistant electrically conductive coatings are used in electrolysis. Examples are the electrolysis application, e. g. for metal coating in the electronic industry or in desalination facilities for ocean water.
AMPERTEC® tantalum pentachloride "Highest Purity" or “Semiconductor” grade can be directly used as ultra pure CVD (chemical vapor deposition) precursor. Also the synthesis of special ALD/CVD precursors for the of production of microprocessors and memory chips requires tantalum pentachloride.
